This is a live demo of the Sector Drupal distribution

This demo is showcasing Sector D7 built on Drupal 7 (an older version). Visit the new Sector D8 demo or visit for more information.

Sector Page layout variants and templates using Drupal Context and a Drupal taxonomy allow us to keep displays modular and consistent across your site.

This sample page is a node of the content type Page added to Level 1 in the main menu. It is displayed using the Section entry page Page variant

The flexible Drupal content type architecture allows site builders to create a new content type for each design template. But using content types to distinguish between layouts can lead to a large number of content types with the risk of inconsistent display and hard to maintain sites.

Sector's concept of Page layout variants and Page content settings via Drupal Context and Drupal taxonomies allow us to build and manage a variety of design templates per content type. This way content types can be used to distinguish between data types, not design requirements, leading to a lean and simple content architecture and grouping.

In this section

  • Level 2 page

As part of this distribution we have preconfigured one branch of your menu, to showcase how your readers can move through your hierarchical content. This is your Level 2 page.

  • Sector Standard pages

Sector supports a variety of Information Architecture principles - one is to organise your content hierarchical. Most hierarchical pages in your Sector site will use the Standard page variant and menus.
  • Sector Page Content settings - Hide sidebar

Next to the Page variants Sector introduces Page content settings to provide further display options per node. As with the Page variants, Page content settings are defined using Drupal taxonomies and Drupal context

  • Sector WYSIWYG - Content elements

WYSIWYG stands for What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get and implies a user interface that allows the user to view something very similar to the end result while the document is being created. This page lists the content elements ready to be used.
